Rigorous Procedure Rigorous procedures

  • DTI University, in accordance with the respective provisions of Section 53(9) and (10), and Section 63 of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Universities and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts, and Article 27 of Study Regulations of DTI University, in year 2021, accepts applications for rigorous examination in the fields of study Teaching and Educational Sciences (code 7605) and Economics and Management (code 6213).

    During rigorous examination, applicants demonstrate that they have gained deeper knowledge on a wider basis by independent studying and independent professional work in the field of study, and are capable of acquiring new scientific knowledge and applying it creatively in practice.

    • Rigorous examination can be applied for by graduates of Master programmes in the field of study Teaching and Educational Sciences, in which they have received university education or in a related field of study. After defending their rigorous thesis and passing rigorous examination, the graduates are awarded the academic degree “Doctor of Pedagogy” (PaedDr.).
    • Rigorous examination can be applied for by graduates of Master programmes in the field of study Economics and Management, in which they have received university education or in a related field of study. After defending their rigorous thesis and passing rigorous examination, the graduates are awarded the academic degree “Doctor of Philosophy” (PhDr.).

     

    RIGOROUS PROCEDURE

    • The rigorous procedure starts by submitting an application form with annexes.
    • Application forms can be submitted by post or via e-mail.
    • Each application for rigorous examination must contain:
      • A correctly filled in application form APPLICATION FOR RIGOROUS PROCEDURE
      • Annexes:
        • officially certified or scanned copy of the applicant’s university diploma;
        • officially certified or scanned copy of the applicant’s state exam certificate;
        • curriculum vitae;
        • graduates of foreign universities enclose a copy of degree certificates issued abroad and the nostrification clause – if nostrification is required;
        • a list of published work (if applies).
    • If the application form is not completed in compliance with the set requirements or does not contain all the required annexes, the Rector requests the applicant to rectify the deficiencies within a specified time limit. In the case that the applicant does not do so without sufficient justification, the rigorous procedure terminates.
    • The decision regarding the acceptance of an applicant for rigorous procedure is made by the Rector.
    • A Certificate of Acceptance for rigorous procedure and a call for payment of the fee for the rigorous procedure is sent to the applicant within one month following the acceptance of the submitted application.
    • In the case of not paying the fee within the agreed upon time, the rigorous procedure terminates.
    • A rigorous thesis is the results of independent professional work, which brings new knowledge and contains original research conducted by the applicant. The extent of a rigorous thesis is 90 – 120 pages (162,000 – 216,000 characters) excluding appendices. Rigorous theses must be written in the State language or in the Czech language. If a rigorous thesis is written in a language other than the State language, it must contain a resumé in the Slovak language (8-10 pages).
