    I. INTERNATIONAL STRATEGY

    Choice of partners

The primary objective of DTI is to increase the quality and quantity of outgoing and incoming mobility participants following the European principles of modernisation and internationalisation of higher education and considers Erasmus+ Programme to be the greatest opportunity hereof. DTI is addressing the potential partners with corresponding profile using personal contacts, correspondence and visits. DTI thoroughly discusses the compatibility of study programmes and courses and all other related conditions of mobility before signing of new inter-institutional agreement with partners abroad to ensure full recognition for completed activities of mobility to bring the positive outcomes and impact for all partners. The existing partnerships are regularly monitored by the Vice-Rector for Science and Research and the Erasmus coordinator and they are continued if they bring good results.

    Geographical areas

DTI is focused mainly on V4 countries, EU members (Bologna process, EHEA, EUA) with the perspective of the OECD countries. DTI currently has 5 partners in 3 EU countries. Broadening the cooperation with other EU and non-EU countries would definitely strengthen the internationalisation of our activities.

    Objectives and target groups

Internationalisation of education is one of the significant factors of evaluating higher education quality therefore DTI emphasises international co-operation in all fields of study (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and life-long programmes) and research through international student and staff mobility, projects, publications and conferences. DTI focuses on establishing the offer of courses in the English language and improving conditions for admitting foreign students, teachers and research workers. DTI respects in full the principles of non-discrimination and ensures equal access and opportunities to all mobility participants providing appropriate mentoring, supporting and linguistic assistance. Each semester DTI offers English language courses for outgoing students/staff and Slovak language courses for incoming students/staff. DTI is able to send and receive disabled students and staff and integrate them into the institutional community as DTI supports equal conditions and principles with no difference of race, gender, religion or orientation. All incoming students and staff are equally treated and offered the same services as the home students and staff.

    Double/multiple/joint degrees

DTI prepares the joint degree study programme in Business Administration with institutions from partner countries planned to start in academic year 2014/2015.

    II. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION PROJECTS

DTI intends to intensify and develop its current educational and research cooperation with other institutions of higher education and local/regional/national authorities. DTI plans to reinforce cooperation with both state and private sector to enhance regional development. DTI has worked on several ESF projects, e.g. “The Virtual University: Quality Improvement of the Extramural Form of Study at the Dubnica Institute of Technology” (ITMS 26110230010) and “The Quality Improvement of Education and Development of Human Resources at the Dubnica Institute of Technology” (ITMS 26110230059).

The cooperation with partner academic institutions will continue in the form of strategic partnerships focused on the development of modern curricula, innovative practices and application of new technologies (mass media, e-learning, open distance learning, interactive teaching, etc.) to enhance employability and competitiveness of our graduates.

The internationalisation of education at DTI is enforced by European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System and Diploma Supplement and in cooperation with foreign institutions in creating joint degree programmes and research projects within the framework of the EU programmes.

    III. IMPACT
