Rigorous procedure
DTI University pursuant to Section 53 (9) and (10) and Section 63 of Act No. 131/2002 Coll. on Universities and on amendment and supplement to certain laws and in accordance with Art. 27 of the Academic Study Rules of the DTI University accepts in the year 2022 application forms for rigorous continuance in the fields of study Teaching and pedagogical sciences (code 7605) and Economy and management (code 6213).
By the rigorous exams an applicant will demonstrate that based on a separate study and separate work in the field of study, he/she obtained deeper knowledge in its wider basis and is able to individually learn new scientific knowledge and apply the same in a creative manner in practice.
- An applicant for rigorous exams may be a graduate of the master study program in the field Teaching and pedagogical sciences, in which the graduate obtained university education, or in similar field of study. Upon defense of the rigorous thesis and carrying out the rigorous exams the graduates will be awarded the academic title „doctor of pedagogy“ (abbreviation „PaedDr“.).
- An applicant for rigorous exams may be a graduate of the master study program in the field Economy and management, in which the graduate obtained university education, or in similar field of study. Upon defense of the rigorous thesis and carrying out the rigorous exams the graduates will be awarded the academic title „doctor of philosophy“ (abbreviation „PhDr“.)
RIGOROUS PROCEDURE
- Rigorous procedure begins by the filing of an application form with annexes.
- An application form for rigorous exams is forwarded via mail and must contain:
- Duly completed form APPLICATION FORM FOR RIGOROUS PROCEDURE
- Annexes:
- an officially verified copy of the university diploma,
- an officially verified copy of the state exam certificate,
- curriculum vitae,
- a foreign university graduate will attach copies of recognized documents on university education and a recognition clause, if the recognition is required,
- a list of published papers, if any.
- If an application form fails to meet the prescribed requirements or fails to contain the required annexes, the rector shall call upon the applicant to remove any such deficiencies in a stipulated period. If no remedy is made without any sufficient justification, the rigorous procedure shall be terminated.
- Any decision on the acceptance of an applicant for a rigorous procedure shall be made by the rector.
- An applicant shall receive a written decision on the acceptance of an applicant, together with a call to pay a fee for rigorous procedure, usually within one month from the acceptance of an application form.
- In case that no payment of the fee is made in the prescribed period, the rigorous procedure shall be terminated.
- A rigorous thesis is a single vocational thesis which brings in new knowledge, contains its own research implemented by the applicant. An extent of the rigorous thesis is 90 - 120 norm pages, excluding annexes. The rigorous thesis is prepared in the state language or in the Czech language. If the rigorous thesis is prepared in a language other than the state language, it must contain a resume in the Slovak language (8-10 pages).

RIGOROUS EXAMS
An applicant must deliver the rigorous thesis within 12 months from the acceptance of an applicant to the rigorous procedure. Upon reviewing and acceptance of the rigorous thesis for defense and upon the fulfillment of all conditions prescribed by the law and internal rules of the school for the rigorous exams, an applicant may participate in the rigorous exams. The term of the rigorous exams shall be specified by the rector.
RIGOROUS EXAMS consists of:
- defense of the rigorous thesis,
- a test from determined study courses:
courses from a wider scientific basis:
- pedagogy – general pedagogy, theory of teaching, theory of upbringing, methodology of pedagogical research,
- psychology – psychology of school, teaching and upbringing, application of social psychology at school, application of the psychology of a personality at school, course related to a focus of the rigorous thesis (field of study didactics)
