The primary condition for acceptance to the study pursuant to Section 56 of the Act is university education of the master degree.
Further conditions for acceptance to the study pursuant to Section 57 of the Act:
- Apply for the study may the graduates of the master degree of the study in the field of study Teaching and pedagogical sciences resp. graduates of the master degree of engineering study (applies only to the graduates of technical faculties, who have completed supplemental pedagogical study – DPŠ), or the graduates of similar fields of study according to the rector´s decision,
- Pedagogical and vocational practice is welcomed with applicants.
The presumed number of accepted PhD students for a present form of the study: 5
The presumed number of accepted PhD students for an external form of the study: 15
Acceptance procedure commences on the day of filing a written application form together with annexes.
An applicant for doctoral study will apply for one from among topics of the dissertation thesis.
An applicant shall attach to the application form:
- signed curriculum vitae,
- a verified photocopy of documents on the completion of university study of the master degree (university diploma, state exams certificate, amendment to the diploma),
- a frame project of the dissertation thesis (as per selected topic),
- a list of published articles or a list of the results of other vocational activity,
- kindly specify a foreign language, from which the applicant will carry out a test in the form of an acceptance test (e.g., English language, German language, Russian language).
An extract from study results is not required on page 2 in the application form.
A mandatory part of the acceptance procedure pursuant to Section 57 (3) of the Act is acceptance exams.
Invited to acceptance exams will an applicant (via mail or phone), who has filed on time a duly completed application form for the study with required annexes.
Form and frame contents of acceptance exams:
- dissertation to the topic and project of a future dissertation thesis (according to a selected topic of the dissertation thesis),
- verification of knowledge from the core of the given study program,
- test from one world language (necessary condition of the acceptance for doctoral study is the knowledge of at least one foreign language at the level B2).

The primary condition of acceptance for the study pursuant to Section 56 of the Act, is university education of the master degree.
Further conditions of acceptance for the study pursuant to Section 57 of the Act:
- Successful completion of the master degree of the study in the field of study 8. Economy and management, or completed university education of the master degree of other focus and at the same time he/she is obliged to submit a document which confirms the applicant´s orientation corresponding to a profile of the relevant study program, for which the applicant has applied (e.g., confirmation on the completion of the other form of managerial education, or a document on at least a three-year work of the applicant, corresponding to a profile of the relevant study program).
- Successful completion of similar fields of study as per the rector´s decision.
- Another condition for foreign applicants for the doctoral study in the Slovak language is, in addition to a successful completion of the master degree study for acceptance to the study is also the demonstration of language skills to study the study program in the Slovak language.
- The topic and project of a future dissertation thesis, where the student specifies its basic vocational and scientific orientation, by which he/she wants to fulfill a topic of the dissertation thesis.
- Tutor for a topic from the given study program.
- Pedagogical and vocational practice with applicants is welcomed.

- dissertation to the topic and project of a future dissertation thesis.
